This spring, I had the honor of being recognized by the Latino Native American Cultural Center (LNACC) during the University of Iowa’s Latinx Graduation Celebration. It was a deeply moving experience to stand alongside my fellow graduates, including one of my Alpha Delta Pi sisters, and celebrate our collective academic achievements and cultural heritage.

A Milestone for the Family

As a first-generation graduate, this ceremony held a special significance for my family. Having my parents there to witness this moment was incredibly emotional. It served as the perfect kickoff to my graduation season and a tribute to the hard work that led to this point.

Looking Toward Commencement

Sharing my accomplishments within a community that understands the unique journey of Latinx students was the best way to start my final weeks at Iowa. I am leaving this celebration feeling inspired, proud, and more ready than ever for the official commencement ceremony!
