EVENTS
Events are more than just dates on a calendar—they are stories told in real-time. My portfolio reflects a passion for curated aesthetics and intentional details. Explore a collection of a few events I have planned and managed throughout my career.
Many of these events highlight my DIY and hands on craftsmanship. These projects represent a deep personal investment of time and effort to ensure every detail is handcrafted to perfection.

Friendsgiving
I managed and planned the 2024 Dohrn Transfer Thanksgiving potluck with our theme being the TV show Friends. I created posters, email communications, decorations and more. I painted my shirt to match Rachel in one of the Thanksgiving episodes and made sure to include plenty of references in my decorations and games. I also created the thankful tree where employees could write on a leaf what they were thankful for and add it to the tree. Haunted House and Trick or Treat
I managed and planned the 2024 Dohrn Transfer Haunted House with my room being inspired by Alice and Wonderland and the Mad Hatter. There were many DIY elements to my tea party themed room, along with my entirely handmade outfit to play the part. I was also in charge of the marketing of this event, so I created many email communications along with posters for both the office and the community center we invited. In addition to the haunted house I planned and decorated a trick or treat trail around the office to lead you into the haunted house area. Golf Tournament
On July 13, 2024 I helped host the first golf tournament for Dohrn Transfer in over 10 years. Throughout the process I wore many hats with managing sponsorships, donations, teams, volunteers, food, and day of event management. I also created the sponsor signs to be reusable golf ball signs with inserts to allow them to be used for future years. I also put together trophies, picked out prizes, and created the bling bag prize picking for the raffle for all of the players. Letters to Santa
In December 2023 I created a new event at Dohrn Transfer for families and the community called Letters to Santa. Dohrn families and the local MLK Center were invited to write letters to Santa, snack on cookies and hot coco, and even meet Santa and his elves. I poured a lot of holiday spirit into planning and executing this event. I decorated each section to make the transition between rooms similar yet with a bit of their own style. I hand crafted snowflakes, balloon garlands, fake presents, and even a fireplace made of boxes and other art supplies. I also thrifted a chair and upholstered it to decorate for our Santa to be extra festive. To surprise the kids I hand wrote letters back from Santa and created custom seals from the north pole for our envelopes. Language Mural
While working as a desk attendant and social media intern for the Center for Language and Cultural Learning at the University of Iowa in 2023 I was able to create something I had never thought of before. I had brought up the idea of brightening up our space to my manager with that I worked with her to brainstorm ways we could achieve that. I designed a set of murals and used languages offered by the University of Iowa as well as those spoken by others within the center. I split my time working between the desk and working on the paintings as well as additional hours I could to complete this before I was set to graduate in the spring. I had so much joy and creativity from this project that I think it is one of my favorites!
Alpha Delta Pi Recruitment
In the summer and fall of 2022 I served as the Director of Primary recruitment for the Alpha Beta chapter of Alpha Delta Pi at the University of Iowa. This included planning a spirit week and learning plan for my chapter before the school year started. As well as planning 3 rounds of recruiting events at our chapter facility and assisting with the planning of our bid day celebration. This was my first time planning a big solo event where I had rules from panhellenic and our sorority to follow so it was a great first challenge. I had such an amazing time during this planning process from planning outfits, to decorating our space, and then welcoming home our new class of sisters.
Recycled Runway
In the spring of 2022 I took an Event Management Workshop class for my certificate through the University of Iowa. In this class we partnered with a local business owner to get tips and plan a special event. My group planned the recycled runway and I was there to help with design, recruiting and I even ended up filling in last minute when we had a designer and model drop out. I created a piece with recycled materials the night before the event and walked the runway during our show with the other models. This was an amazing production and I am forever grateful for the team I got to work with!
